The GetData suite of home and business software products is the result of more than a million dollars investment and 9,000 development and testing hours.
GetData was founded in 2001 and is based in Hurstville, Sydney. GetData software has been downloaded by more than 3 million people worldwide.
Their range of products include the worlds’ most powerful data recovery products and special utilities for PC users, distributed into the Australian retail market by Lako Pacific. GetData has also won a number of awards for its software including a Product of The Year citation for Recover My Files from PC User magazine and a Premier’s Export Award.
The data recovery technologies in several of GetData’s products were developed by former computer forensic police officers, John Hunter and Graham Henley, based on their experience in major investigations including allegations against corporations One-Tel and HIH, together with physicist Dr. Brett Hunter.

Years Of Police Forensic Crime Investigation Experience
John Hunter spent nine years as a New South Wales Police Officer attached to the Special Technical Investigations Branch as a senior computer forensics examiner and then with PricewaterhouseCoopers Asia Pacific Computer Forensics Team.
Graham Henley has eleven years law enforcement experience in the Australian Federal Police, five of those in the Computer Crime Unit. After leaving law enforcement Graham spent five years as Director of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Asia Pacific computer forensics practice.
Dr. Brett Hunter is a PHD Nuclear Physicist formally with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) and the author of more than 100 scientific research papers.

Helpful Productivity Tools For PC Owners
“Explorer View is a response to the enormous amount of time we spend on computers. Whether for work or at home or studying most people end up with hundreds of files on their computers,” explained Dr. Brett Hunter.
“It often takes a lot of wasted time and fiddling around if you’re not sure of the name of the file. With Explorer View you simply click on your files in Explorer and a viewing window at the bottom of the screen is displayed for each file. Not only is it a timesaver but you can play music and video files as well in the Explorer View window.”
The company in January 2007 released it's latest application, Recover My iPOD, which recovers music and video files from all models of iPODs.
One of their newest products is Burn My Files, which has just been released, a fast, one-click way of burning files to CD’s or DVD’s.
John Hunter explained that the idea of Burn My Files also came from the need to save time and make computer processes quick and easy for home and business users.
“It’s a one click exercise. Just put your cursor over a file or folder name and right click. It is instantly saved to a CD or DVD. It’s very helpful for both home and business.”
