World’s Top Police Investigators
Using Aussie Crime Fighting Software Tool

The FBI, US Secret Service, Australian Federal Police and some of the world’s major police forces are now among users of GetData Software’s forensic investigation tool Mount Image Pro.

Mount Image Pro (http://www.mountimage.com) allows investigators to open EnCase images, or sets of files, which then appear as a hard drive.

It enables the mounting of EnCase®, Unix DD or SMART® forensic images as a drive letter on your file system.

More than 500 Police forces, including a number of German forces, West Yorkshire in the UK, Abbotsford in Canada, New Jersey and Madison County, USA., and Turkey, have now purchased Mount Image Pro.

And the Swedish Tax Department has become one of the most recent users.

In Australia corporations including PriceWaterhouseCooper, KPMG and Ferrier Hodgson are using the software.

“Mount Image Pro has been successful because it is so easy to use. It allows the examiner, whether it’s a police officer, a lawyer, or another party, to look at contents of a forensic image just like they look at the normal files on their computer. It does this in a ‘forensic’ environment where the evidence cannot be altered,” GetData’s Managing Director, John Hunter, a former NSW police forensic investigator, confirmed today

Mount Image Pro allows the investigator to run any program, such as a virus or spyware scanner, over the suspect’s files. It is not necessary to purchase expensive forensic software.

“Investigators Install Mount Image Pro™, open Windows Explorer, right click on an image file, and select ‘Mount’. It's that simple. You now have a Read Only forensic image as a drive letter,” he added.

GetData also bundles a copy of its world leading data recovery software, Recover My Files, with each Mount Image Pro package. MIP is downloadable and is fully functional as a trial version for 21 days from their website: www.mountimagepro.com/

“MIP allows Defense attorney's, law enforcement and corporate agencies can now access EnCase®, Unix DDM and SMART® image file systems in a very cost effective way,” he added.

Mount Image Pro™ handles multi segmented and compressed image files seamlessly. It fully maintains the MD5 HASH integrity which can be tested by a reacquisition of the mounted drive and a comparison of MD5 checksums. It also will open EnCase® password protected image files.

Uses include the capability to map images as a single drive letter to explore "Unused/Non partitioned" disk space or map specific drive letters to any or all partitions within the image files.
