Their step into the global enterprise market coincides with the impending release of Version 4.0 of Recover My Files, which this month passed the 100,000 customer base figure.
“A site license for Recover My Files will cost US$1,999.95. This price covers all PC's including mobile users from one site location, for example a University campus would be classed as a single site even though there may be many buildings on the campus. However, if the university campus was located in two cities that would require two site licenses.
“A Global License covers multiple site licenses and costs US$9,999.95 USD. This covers any PC within an organisation anywhere around the globe.”
GetData will officially release Version 4.0 of Recover My Files, at CeBIT Australia in May featuring a new graphical user interface and more streamlined usability.
The timing of the new release was revealed this week in Sydney by GetData Managing Director, John Hunter.
“The site and global licenses are available now. While we have steadily upgraded file formats and other elements of the application over the past three years, this will be the single largest series of upgrades over the past year. Most in response to feedback from our 100,500 customers worldwide, others we’ve wanted to implement for some time,” Mr. Hunter added.
“The new version will have a save and reload feature, allowing you to resume a search after completing other tasks, and a simpler set of choices to decide on which solution you need to recover particular files.”
Recover My Files, now the world’s most powerful data recovery application will also include an additional array of file formats including a number of RIFF and OLE files which are not always specified when customers are trying to find certain files. The number of file formats recoverable now exceeds 160.
What has given Recover My Files an edge over any other data recovery software is that it combines simplicity of use and speed with the most powerful data recovery engine on the market, together with a unique “on-the-fly” capability of viewing recovered files while the search is being conducted.
Recover My Files can recover deleted or lost files – whether lost accidentally or through virus infection, formatting of hard drives, system shutdowns or software failure.
The application not only recovers hard-drive data but also deleted files from floppy disks, zip drives, compact flash, smart media, including iPOD and other music files, and other removable media.
Recover My Files is compatible with Windows XP and works with FAT 12, FAT 16, FAT 32 and NTFS file-systems.
John Hunter explained when a file is deleted from a Windows Operating System or when a hard drive is accidentally formatted the contents of the files are not destroyed.
“It is usually only the Windows file reference information that is destroyed. Our data recovery software scans the storage media at a low level to locate deleted files by their internal file structure,” GetData’s John Hunter explained.
“This allows Recover My Files to locate and recover files that other data recovery software programs could never know existed. It also provides a comprehensive filter of search results from your hard drive or other media that allows you to search for specific deleted files based on their type, size, content, date of creation or filename.
“The only instance in which it cannot recover deleted files is if the computer user has overwritten the data. In that case the data is unrecoverable, John Hunter added.”
